Notes: This show was surprisingly awesome. Surprisingly a) because we'd just come off an extremely mediocre show from the night before and b) because the Trasheteria just simply doesn't seem to be physically capable of hosting a band. The sound system is an old vocal PA, no amps or drums miked except for Shlag's setup. The vocal mics kept dropping out, the stage is actually the darkest part of the room, and it's even difficult to find the room when you're in the building. STILL, it was a great show, one of the better ones in recent memory. The vibe of the room is good despite its shortcomings, the staff were as accomodating as possible and enthusiastic about the show, and the people who came to see Zygote were movin' and groovin'. This show saw a few carloads of fans from T Dot - thanks guys for making the trek.
The band played very very well tonight. Sometimes you get the best shows in the smaller, unlikely venues. Although performances were great all around, I'd say that Star Of The Show gets split tonight between Shlag and Brian. Shlag for the first half - his solo in Single was among the most impressive I've seen from him in ages. Brian for the second half - He busted out a drum solo tonight that was controlled, tight, creative, and occasionally just impossible. Hoo momma.
We definitely want to play the Trash again. It's not the greatest venue in the world but it's got a good feel and we enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Next time we'll bring some lights, that's all. We also unveiled a whole new line of GoteWear at this show, lotsa cute new shirts for the ladies and new stuff for guys as well.
