Yup, it's in Josh's library Poster: None Notes: Although Zygote did next to zero promotion for this gig, and the turnout reflected that, this wasn't too shabby a gig after all. The usual gang of zealots showed up to crowd the front of the stage during the 'Gote's set, and I'm pretty sure I caught a glimpse of someone crowdsurfing at one point. (In a "crowd" of thirty people this is more difficult than it looks. Don't worry, nobody was hurt. Badly.) The sound at Clinton's wasn't too bad, although we experienced all kinds of Comfort Zone flashbacks when ringing feedback tore through Kousharee, the night's opener. It was quickly wrestled under control though, and the rest of the set sounded fine. Weird for Zygote to have been placed at this venue for the festival, actually. The other acts slotted for this evening consisted mostly of acousticy folky stuff (except for Gammahoochee, who went on at 9pm [ouch] and played a very cool electric jazz set) and Zygote felt a bit out of place as the hardest gang in town. From a playing perspective, the band was as hot as ever. Some tweaking to Gratefully Nowhere gave it a needed boost, and the rest of the set went like clockwork. Not much in the way of teasers this time (although Jeremy strummed a few bars from the ancient Zygote favorite Wannabe between songs and some people in the crowd recognized it, and a good section of the similarly aged Ladies was tacked into Biz for a classic crescendo that got the dancefloor ROCKIN.) All in all, a good gig. Better than we expected from a Thursday night at midnight in Little Korea, anyway. FAN COMMENTS An overall great show! The sound was quite impressive,especially since the most recent show at Comfort Zone, where the sound system must have been busted. I especially enjoyed Nejuan at this particular show and can't wait till the 17th! -Brian A.
